khost — the command-line tool

A single binary for macOS, Linux and Windows that talks to the Kasada Hosting API.

Install

bash
# macOS and Linux
curl -fsSL https://hosting.kasadaai.com/install/khost.sh | sh

# or with Go
go install github.com/kasadaai/kasada-hosting/cmd/khost@latest

On Windows, download khost.exe from the releases page and put it on your PATH. Check it works:

bash
khost version

Create an API token in the console (Organization → API tokens), then:

bash
khost login --token khst_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The token is stored in ~/.config/khost/config.json. You can also set KHOST_TOKEN in the environment, which wins over the config file — handy in CI.

Servers

bash
khost servers list
khost servers create --name web-1 --plan K2 --image ubuntu-24.04 --region us-east --ssh-key laptop --backups
khost servers create --name app-1 --plan K1 --image debian-12 --user-data ./cloud-config.yaml
khost servers get web-1
khost servers ssh web-1 # opens ssh root@<ip>
khost servers reboot web-1 # also: start, stop, shutdown, reset
khost servers resize web-1 --plan K4
khost servers delete web-1 # asks you to type the name; --yes to skip

--region is optional and defaults to us-east; the other regions are eu-central and us-west.

Commands that start a long-running action wait for it and show progress. Add --no-wait to return straight away.

SSH keys, firewalls, networks

bash
khost ssh-keys add laptop ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub
khost ssh-keys list
khost firewalls list
khost networks create backend --cidr 10.10.0.0/24
khost networks attach backend web-1

Wallet

bash
khost wallet # balance, spend per hour, days left
khost wallet transactions
khost wallet usage --month 2026-10

Output formats

The default is a readable table. Use -o json for scripts, or -o yaml:

bash
khost servers list -o json | jq -r '.[] | select(.status=="running") | .ipv4[0].address'
Run khost help or khost <command> --help for every flag.
